With the new Lightbox feature, the images can be clicked and be displayed with a darkened background.

Also, all the images and photos within the blog post will be listed below, allowing readers to view them one by one - like a slideshow.

Currently, Blogger blogs in default have "Open images with Lightbox" setting enabled. To configure it, go to Dashboard > Settings > Formatting.

Then you'll see the setting mode for Lightbox. Either yes or no.

According to the description: If yes is selected, when a reader clicks on an image in a post, it will be displayed in a slideshow-like overlay instead of leaving your page and navigation to the image.

It could seem rather annoying if readers unintentionally click on it. But if your blog is a photography blog, it's definitely suitable.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965035247384303173.post-13716370809274362642011-09-01T18:52:00.001+08:002011-09-25T22:04:21.130+08:00Blogger New Interface LayoutBlogger has released a new layout on its Original Blogger site (note: not Blogger in Draft) and you can try the updated Blogger interface with just a click, that's if you're still on the old Blogger interface.

This is the outdated (or old if you prefer) interface/layout and it has been around for quite some time.

And this... is the new updated interface by Blogger.

Looks whiter and more organized than the previous interface, with a tinge of orange color. Probably competing with one of their closest competitor, Wordpress, the new layout seem to grasp a more professional look.

If you have a few blogs, you'll see them being listed one by one on the main page. To have a better control over each individual blogs, just click on the blog name and you'll be directed to the overview page.

On the overview page, there will be statistics and updates (comments, post count, follower count, etc) displayed. On the left had side, the navigation panel allows you to work on numerous features, none of which is new though.

On the posts page, it looks similarly like Wordpress - with number of comments with a speech bubble, the views (statistics) and date. The controls are similar to Wordpress too, but definitely a good improvement by Blogger.

Whereas the comment section lists all the comments in a chronological order, with the latest one at the top. However, Blogger should further improve this section by removing the "on blog post" from the written comment. Perhaps a new column will do.

The post editor section is almost the same, despite the change of layout. With the post settings grouped together at the right side, it's more convenient to configure the settings. Blogger now allows the "Location" to be included as well.

For more information about the new layout, check out Blogger's Fresh New Look on the Official Google Blog.

Author's note: It normally takes time to adapt to a new layout. I agree so I'm gonna stay with the old interface for a little longer.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965035247384303173.post-73804502332525449092011-08-18T23:39:00.000+08:002011-08-18T23:39:31.020+08:00OnBux Down Forever?Yes, OnBux is down for quite some time already and one could only wonder - was it intentionally done? Was the hard-clicked money earned by their users too lucrative to be taken (scammed) so that they purposely close down the site?

Was there an issue with their hosting? But many would conclude that it's a scam attempt.
Goodbye OnBux, you've been good actually - except for the remaining credit you didn't pay up.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965035247384303173.post-73284177730016875652011-07-30T10:02:00.002+08:002011-07-30T10:04:56.275+08:00Flavors.me - Homepage in MinutesHere's a cool way to create your own homepage in just minutes - with flavors.me. To be exact, it's just a 1-page homepage that allows you to link all your other social media accounts on it.

To get started, you'll require to register for an account. It's easy and quick.

Before moving on the the features and details of flavors.me, let's go through some of the existing flavors.me profiles.

After registering, you can immediately start to customize your profile. The editing tools are easy to be understood, easy to navigate and watch real-time changes onto your profile display.

You can customize your layout, fonts and colors in real-time. Just click, and the changes will appear almost instantly. Therefore, you are allowed to modify it to meet your preference.

Once the appearance is done, add some of your favorite social media accounts to your profile. Link your Wordpress blog, Facebook profile, Twitter account or even YouTube channel.

If a visitor checks out your profile page, he can then access all your linked social media accounts - almost like a 1-stop homepage center.

Other than that, there are stats available but real-time stats are a paid-only feature.

Actually, there is nothing much about flavors.me if you're just using the free version. Most of the functions and features are locked away, unless you're willing to pay the fee.

And if you're willing to pay, it's $20 a year.

Upon paying, there will be unlimited services available. You can get a custom URL, directory listing, real-time stats, contact form and custom content.

That's it.

Also, there is another similar website called about.me. It's way better than flavors.me so feel free to check it out.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965035247384303173.post-73791387613036752762011-07-08T22:17:00.002+08:002011-07-30T10:04:21.636+08:00About.me - Custom Profile & Personal Analytics DashboardHere's a great method to create your own customized profile almost instantly - check out about.me. You can either use an online icon creator (which may not be user-friendly) or Photoshop.

Once you've designed your icon, save it as an image file. Next, proceed to the online icon generator to generate the icon. Click "send".

2) Once inside your account, look at the top of the website.

If advertisements are available, there will be a green box with a number (indicating the number of ads available, normally 4) beside "View Advertisements". Click on it.

3) After that, you'll see boxes that represents each available advertisement.

A yellow star below the box indicates that it's not clicked for the day yet. A gray star indicates that the advertisement was already clicked. It refreshes daily, so it's advisable to log in daily to view the ads.

To view a particular advertisement, click on the box.

4) Then, click on the red dot that appears at random locations within the box.

It's usually a red dot, but since it's Christmas when this screen shot is made - Neobux changed the red dot to a Christmas ornaments. Still works the same.

This method is obviously to prevent bots and requires a human interaction.

5) After clicking on the red dot, a new page will appear on the browser. That's where the advertisement website loads.

The loading of each advertisement will take about 30 seconds or more, depending on content of the website.

Wait for the progress bar to be covered with yellow. While waiting, do not view other advertisements. It's supposed to be viewed one by one.

6) After the progress bar is completed, you'll see an advertisement validation.

It will appear over the progress bar previously and it indicates that the advertisement click is successful. Good job and you have $0.01 credited into your account.

Continue with clicking on the rest of the advertisements available. Remember to view every single advertisements every day to earn the maximum money for basic steps.

7) You may view your daily earning chart at your account information section. Just click on your username at the top of the website.

From this chart, you can view your activeness by checking the number of clicks you've made in the recent days. Unlike having a totally free blog on Blogger.com or Wordpress.com, where you're given a sub-domain like "abc.blogspot.com" or "abc.wordpress.com".

Getting a custom domain is basically about making it cooler, and probably shorter without the "blogspot.com" and "wordpress.com" extension. That means you get to have "abc.com" or "abc.net" etc.

---

Why purchase a Web Hosting?

Getting your own web hosting means you're having your website hosted, but with a fee included. You can pay it monthly, or yearly depending on your preference. However, sometimes it'll be cheaper if you pay yearly.

When you're on Blogger.com or Wordpress.com, you're actually hosting your blog on their site. Furthermore, it's free-of-charge and you don't have to worry about the hosting issues. You'll only be given the blogging interface and you blog, that's all.

But when you're on an external web hosting, you'll need to download a blogging platform (Wordpress is the common one), install it on the web host, set up your database, redirect your domain and blog.

---

Can I just purchase a custom domain for Blogspot?

Yes you can. If you have a blog on "abc.blogspot.com" and you purchase "abc.com", both links will bring you to the same blog/website.

In fact, you can purchase it via Blogger itself. Read: How to buy a custom domain for Blogger.

In this case, there's no new blog or old blog when you've only bought a domain for your Blogger.com blog - it's actually the same. Just the address has changed.

---

What about purchasing a domain and a web hosting?

For this matter, you'll have to host a self-hosted Wordpress (or your preferred blogging platform) blog, unlike Wordpress.com and Blogger.com.

If you get a web host, downloaded and installed Wordpress, it's a new Wordpress blog. (Click here to download Wordpress from Wordpress.org)

Don't worry about leaving your old Blogger.com blog posts, because you can import your old entries - there's a function in Wordpress that allows you to import entries from other blogs.

After you've gotten yourself a web host, "abc.blogspot.com" and "abc.com" (or any new domain) are two DIFFERENT websites.

Take note: Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org are not the same.

---

Simplified Explanation

Blogger with added domain = Same house, new address.
Blogger in Draft is out with 2 new widgets - the Popular Posts widget and Blog's Stats widget.

Take note, they can only be seen when you're on Blogger in Draft. The normal Blogger doesn't have it yet.

On the Popular Posts widget, these are the available settings.

You can set the most view posts duration period and whether to include an image thumbnail (which is normally the first picture of the blog post) and also the snippet.

Unfortunately you can set the number of displayed blog posts right now. The fixed number is 10. Hopefully Blogger will add in the blog count feature as well later on.

On the Blog's Stats widget, these are the available settings.

Here, you can edit the stats style and the options.

That's all for now. Hopefully these additional Blogger widgets are useful for some of you!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965035247384303173.post-83756360007092483492010-09-03T22:21:00.006+08:002010-09-06T20:57:55.681+08:00How to Add Floating Twitter Button on Blogger BlogHow to add twitter button on Blogger blog?

Now you can manage the comments received on your Blogger blog. It will be with one of the tabs with the other navigation, such as Edit Post, Settings, Designs and Monetize.

Here's how the navigation bar look now.

With the commenting feature, now you can easily check on published comments, comments that are awaiting moderation and spam comments.

To be honest, it's almost like Wordpress now - except Wordpress has a "Trash" are once you deleted a particular comment, probably just in case you want to recover it back.

But when you delete comments on Blogspot, that cannot be undone.

This is how the "Published" section look like - with complete information such as comment author, commented blog post and the date.

Comments "Awaiting Moderation" section. It's self-explanatory.

And lastly, the "Spam" section. Haven't gotten any in my spam inbox right now, hopefully it works against automated spam comment bots.

Take note: It's not implemented on all blogs, yet. Only a handful of blogs has this feature - probably all will have it in the near future.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5965035247384303173.post-69132366904739748452010-08-11T21:14:00.004+08:002010-09-06T21:02:10.420+08:00Tutorial: How To Set Password for Blogger PostHow to make blogger post private?
